Breath – one of the main vital physiological functions of an organism. The fact that malfunction of breath leads to diseases is known long ago. Function violation this is her aberration. But how breath of the person that it could lead him to chronic diseases has to be changed?
Researches of physiology of process of breath are conducted by scientists one and a half centuries. The huge material testifying to the major role in the course of breath not only all of the known oxygen, but also carbon dioxide without which assimilation of the human body inhaled by oxygen by cells is impossible has been during this time saved up. At a lack of percentage of carbon dioxide of a human body for many years – there is a lack of providing an organism with oxygen which leads to emergence of the whole scale of the most widespread diseases of respiratory, cardiovascular and endocrine systems.
In what way the content of carbon dioxide in an organism could decrease below norm? The answer has been found in 1871 by the famous Dutch scientist and the doctor De Costa. He has proved that chronically increased depth of breath of the patient with which there is an excessive washing away of carbonic acid through lungs leads to decrease in percent of carbon dioxide in an organism. This pathological state has been called a hyper ventilating syndrome. In 1909 the famous physiologist Genderson has made numerous animal experiments which have experimentally proved that deep breath is disastrous for an animal organism and is capable to cause irreversible pathological changes up to a lethal outcome. Further physiologists Haldane, Priestley, Verigo, Bor have conducted numerous researches which have proved paramount value of carbon dioxide in ensuring the major exchange processes in an organism.
Thus, the lack of carbon dioxide doesn't allow your organism to receive the inhaled oxygen in necessary quantity. And, the breath in attempts to receive oxygen is deeper – the stronger carbon dioxide is washed away and the oxygen starvation is stronger. Respiratory paradox. At a chronic lack of oxygen providing there is a reflex spasm of a bronchial tree – a bronkhoobstruktivny syndrome, an attack of bronchial asthma, an exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, respiratory insufficiency. The reflex spasm of a vascular wall leads to development of an arterial hypertension, insufficiency of saturation of a myocardium by oxygen - to ischemia, emergence of attacks of stenocardia.
Considering the aforesaid, it is necessary to draw a conclusion on the closest interrelation of daily depth of breath of the person with a state of his health. In 1952 the Soviet doctor K. Buteyko on the basis of the data obtained by domestic and foreign physiologists has created the uniform theory of emergence of a number of diseases with the increased breath depth. The scientist has developed the special cycle of respiratory trainings directed to gradual reduction of excessive depth of breath of the patient to physiological norm – Buteyko Breathing Method. As it has been shown to scientists – by means of correction of depth of breath of the patient is possibly without drugs to carry out treatment of such widespread diseases as bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, an arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, and also a number of exchange pathologies .
Today Buteyko Breathing Method allows more than 60 years to thousands of people to treat without drugs a number of diseases at an initial stage and it is essential to facilitate the course of serious chronically current illnesses with considerable decrease in the applied medicinal therapy.
